Job Title: Self-Employed Courier

Menzies Distribution is seeking a reliable and skilled Self-Employed Courier to join our team in Wakefield. As a Self-Employed Courier, you will be responsible for delivering a first-class service across a 7-day operation, packing and delivering products in the early hours of the morning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out route preparation, loading your own vehicle, and delivering products to between 20-40 customers per day (same delivery points each day)
  • Return to the depot with any unsold products
  • Meet the demands of a multi-drop driving role
Requirements:
  • The 'Right To Work' in the UK with no serious unspent criminal convictions
  • A full UK/EU/EEA driving licence
  • A 3.5-tonne van (Transit or similar)
  • Goods In Transit Insurance
  • Public Liability Insurance
  • Hire and Reward Insurance
  • No previous disqualifications NI, DD or DR
  • Physically fit
  • Hardworking, positive, and flexible attitude to work
Important Notes:

If you do not currently own or have access to a 3.5-tonne vehicle (Transit or similar), you must be in a financial position to lease or purchase one. You will also need to have all insurances (Goods in Transit, Public Liability & Hire and Reward) in place prior to starting.

Financial considerations include van deposit, first months rental, and commercial insurances.
