Job Summary

Forged Solutions Group is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team in Darley Dale. As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for machining forgings and tooling to specified drawings across both manual and CNC machining centers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Health and Safety: Work in a safe and responsible manner, ensuring the well-being of yourself and others.
  • Conduct pre-shift health and safety checks as specified, including hoist crane checks.
  • Maintain a high standard of workplace housekeeping, adhering to 5S duties.
  • Ensure all quality procedures and processes are followed, meeting the highest standards of precision and accuracy.
  • Machine parts to drawing specifications, utilizing measuring equipment such as micrometers, vernier calipers, and surface roughness gauges.
  • Manage material movements, prepare cells for next jobs, and check/change tips as required.
  • Monitor dimensions in process, load and unload parts, and perform basic machine and coolant checks.
  • Complete cell production documentation and bookings, setting jobs and machine parts, and adjusting offsets and tooling as needed.
  • Take first-off measurements and ensure all work meets the required standards.
Requirements
  • Essential Skills: Machining working under +/- 0.05mm tolerances, CNC milling/turning experience, and understanding of Fanuc CNC controls.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure, delivering results to defined deadlines.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Apprentice-trained in mechanical manufacturing or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and understand drawings.
  • Experience with machining forgings, manual milling/turning, and overhead crane training.
  • Forklift license to RTITB/ITSSAR or any other national accredited qualification.
  • Overhead crane/lifting certification.
