Job Description

We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a leading property development company, for a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor (M&E) to join their commercial team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the financial and contractual aspects of mechanical and electrical projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and cost projects and programmes of work, ensuring accurate financial projections and risk assessments.
  • Manage specific elements of work allocated by the Senior Cost Manager/Commercial Executive, including trade contract and consultant submittals.
  • Assist with the development of approved tender lists and provide a detailed budget analysis.
  • Prepare and review tender documentation, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Conduct commercial evaluations of tenders, including meetings and supplemental bid documentation.
  • Prepare contract documentation for execution, ensuring all necessary parties are informed and involved.
  • Review trade contract and consultant submittals from a commercial perspective, reporting and responding as necessary.
  • Liaise with contractors and/or client representatives to ensure instructions are raised and acted upon, costs are received and agreed, and change orders are issued on a regular basis.
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date accounts are maintained throughout the contract duration.
Desirable Skills:
  • Quantity Surveying practical work experience, ideally on large commercial and/or residential projects working on Mechanical & Electrical packages.
  • A degree in Quantity Surveying/RICS is a requirement for this role.
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) are essential for effective collaboration with the project team and stakeholders.
  • Strong negotiation skills are necessary for successful contract management.
  • Computer literacy is an essential requirement for this role, with proficiency in relevant software and systems.
  • A positive and helpful attitude, combined with a strong customer service orientation, is essential for building and maintaining excellent working relationships with the project team and stakeholders.
The Package:

The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary of up to £95K, plus an excellent benefits package.
