Reinsurance Claims Adjuster Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Reinsurance Claims Adjuster to join our team at Claims Recruitment Services. As a key member of our claims team, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing claims within our Reinsurance portfolio, comprising Property and Specialty Treaty and Casualty Reinsurance claims.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Proactively manage new and existing Treaty Claims, handling claims in accordance with our claims philosophy and guidelines.
  • Handle significant and complex Inward Reinsurance Claims, and take technical referral of claims above authority from the Inward Reinsurance Claims Team.
  • Carry out technical claims handling reviews for accuracy, completeness, and eligibility.
  • Set reserves and risk flags, assess FGU, and calculate/pay claims within authority and service levels.
  • Refer claims to senior members of the team, as per authority and guidelines.
  • Assist on internal quarterly catastrophe estimates and large loss claims reviews.
  • Prepare and distribute documents for claims-related reports.
  • Collaborate and communicate with internal and external stakeholders on claims-related queries.
  • Attend and participate in regular Claims team and Underwriting meetings.
Key Requirements:
  • Experience in a similar role within Reinsurance, with experience of adjusting both Property and Casualty claims. Candidates with relevant Broking/Legal backgrounds will also be considered.
  • A broad range of industry expertise, relationships, and market knowledge, including the ability to handle complex claims.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite and knowledge of Tableau or Power BI.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Completion or near completion of industry-related designation(s) - ARe, AIC, ACII, CPCU.
