Job Summary

Shaw Healthcare is seeking a skilled and compassionate Bank Chef to join our team at Ty Cwm. As a Bank Chef, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality, fresh, and home-cooked meals to our residents. You will work closely with our Home Manager, Nutritional Therapist, and staff to ensure that our residents receive the best possible care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, cook, and serve meals for residents and others as required, in a timely manner.
  • Provide a varied diet, catering for the cultural preferences of those who use our services.
  • Cater for celebrations and other events in our Home.
  • Order supplies within the catering budget and company policy guidelines, using approved suppliers.
  • Maintain accurate catering records in accordance with HACCP.
  • Participate in inspections by Environmental Health and/or care regulators and Local Authorities.
  • Maintain a high standard of hygiene within the kitchen by adhering to HACCP and COSHH guidelines.
  • Assist in the maintenance of a safe and healthy working environment by ensuring adherence to Health & Safety and Welfare.
  • Ability to manage the Catering Team.

Requirements

  • Experience in a similar role, preferably in a care setting.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and bank holidays.
