Job Title: Packaging Innovation Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Packaging Innovation Specialist to join our team at Oscar Mayer Group UK. As a key member of our packaging innovation team, you will be responsible for driving packaging innovation in our categories and supporting our business partners in delivering their packaging and sustainability policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and coordinate our packaging innovation and reduction program to ensure a continuous pipeline of innovations and a bank of propositions that can be drawn upon to meet business needs.
  • Provide technical support and packaging expertise to our sites to contribute to problem-solving, customer complaint reduction, operational optimization, and profitability enhancement.
  • Maintain packaging compliance for legislative requirements, including Plastic Packaging Tax, Packaging Recycling Notes, and Extended Producer Responsibilities.
  • Own data for Packaging Waste Regulations and submit to regulators.
  • Liaise with packaging industry leaders and organizations to provide regular updates on regulatory and industry developments.
  • Deliver value engineering project activity to bring profitability through key initiative projects.
  • Provide packaging design and print management to deliver our brand strategy.
  • Travel to sites and suppliers as required.

Requirements:

  • Degree or diploma in packaging technology or in-depth knowledge of the packaging industry with experience in food packaging and systems.
  • Ability to be creative, innovative, and investigative.
  • Traveling between sites, suppliers, and other destinations as necessary.
  • Ability to use a range of software systems/tools to collate and interrogate, interpret, and communicate data.
  • 3D printer experience.
