Job Overview:
Lionsgate Contractors is on the lookout for a proficient Mechanical / Electrical Fitter for a contract role based in Dorset.
This position entails the fabrication, installation, and support of a new project, alongside providing on-site maintenance throughout the project duration.
The ideal candidate will work a standard five-day week, ensuring a well-organized and efficient work environment. There is a possibility for this contract role to evolve into a permanent position for the right individual.Key Responsibilities:
Mechanical and Electrical Assembly:
- Assemble mechanical and pneumatic components, sub-assemblies, and provide electrical support, including connections and testing.
- Conduct maintenance tasks for various site systems and equipment, ensuring continuous operation.
Project Commissioning:
- Assist in the commissioning of new mechanical installations, including inspection and testing routines.
Technical Interpretation:
- Read and interpret manufacturing and assembly drawings, creating detailed work instructions for accurate assembly.
Quality Control:
- Ensure the alignment, quality, and functionality of complete assemblies through thorough checks.
Safety Adherence:
- Maintain a strong commitment to safety by following all relevant safety rules and policies.
Job Requirements:
Experience:
- Proficiency with hand and power tools, small-scale fabrication, and mechanical assembly.
- Experience in commissioning mechanical installations and conducting inspection and testing routines.
- Familiarity with electrical installations, basic electrical assembly, and fault-finding techniques.
Technical Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret electrical circuit drawings.
- Experience in cooling system assembly, including tasks such as setting to work, filling, venting, purging, and draining.
- Knowledge of safe systems of work and conducting risk assessments.
- Understanding of lifting operations for slinging and rigging (lifting requirements under 1 tonne).
Profile:
- Self-motivated with a logical approach to work.
- Ability to critically assess designs and suggest improvements.
- Attention to detail with a careful approach to recording non-conformances.
- Formal qualifications such as an apprenticeship or HND in a relevant field.
Additional Details:
- Location: Dorset, requires on-site presence 5 days a week.
- Contract Duration: 6 months, with potential for extension.
- Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week.
- Security: UK eyes only.
