We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Financial Controller to join our team at Benjamin Edwards in Lincoln. As a Financial Controller, you will play a crucial role in supporting the business's financial operations and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage prepayments and accruals to ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Oversee the submission of actual and forecasted payroll by Heads of Department
  • Ensure cost control procedures are followed by Heads of Department
  • Maintain up-to-date contracts and staff records
  • Process new starters and leavers according to established procedures
  • Assist with pension scheme administration for eligible employees
  • Accurately and timely process monthly payroll
  • Handle returns, declarations, and administration for HMRC, pensions, and other relevant bodies
  • Process invoices and staff expenses in the correct accounting period
  • Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies
  • Prepare and post month-end journals
  • Scrutinize P&L and report any discrepancies
  • Oversee the day-to-day running of the accounts office
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely reporting
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in monthly accounts and payroll management
