Job Title: Environmental Protection Manager

Join Suffolk County Council as an Environmental Protection Manager and lead the Environmental Services and Port Health Leadership Group. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for implementing the strategic direction and corporate priorities, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the Environmental Protection team in implementing the strategic direction and corporate priorities.
  • Oversee the delivery of services, including Private Water supplies, nuisance, animal licensing, environmental waste enforcement, public burials, air quality, and planning consultations.
  • Develop procedures and processes to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
  • Provide professional support, guidance, and development opportunities for the team.
Requirements:
  • Recognized and appropriate professional qualification in Environmental Health.
  • Membership of the CIEH.
  • Extensive post-qualification experience in the Environmental Protection field.
  • Ability to lead by example, inspire, motivate, and manage in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven track record in forging successful internal and external partnerships and delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
