Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Accountant to enhance our Group Reporting Team, ensuring the delivery of precise and insightful global financial reports. This position will also involve evaluating new contracts and conducting revenue analysis, serving as the primary contact for all matters related to IFRS 15 and IFRS 16.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage Revenue accounting (IFRS 15), ensuring knowledge transfer within the team.
- Evaluate and model significant contracts in accordance with IFRS 15, including new contracts and modifications.
- Assist in the Lease accounting process (IFRS 16), assessing new customer assets and maintaining schedules for existing leases.
- Collaborate with our business and financial systems team to develop an automated revenue recognition process.
- Oversee subsidiary transactions for the Americas, reviewing monthly reporting prepared by local accountants.
- Calculate transfer pricing for subsidiaries to facilitate intercompany invoicing.
- Conduct cost centre reviews with business managers, preparing and presenting performance reports to senior management.
- Work with various teams within and outside Finance to enhance financial reporting data.
- Ensure timely completion of key month-end tasks and balance sheet reconciliations using the Blackline system.
- Support the preparation of interim accounts and the annual report for the Group.
- Assist with external and internal audits.
- Develop the control environment for IFRS 15 and IFRS 16.
- Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as necessary.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with experience in financial reporting and month-end processes.
- Proficient in MS Excel.
- Strong understanding of financial systems with the capability to enhance them.
- Proactive problem-solving attitude and a collaborative approach.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills to work effectively with colleagues.
- A team-oriented individual willing to take on tasks across team hierarchies.
