Job Title: Integrated Midwife

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Integrated Midwife to join our team at North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust. As an Integrated Midwife, you will provide high-quality, woman-centred care to women and their families throughout the antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal periods.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide safe, effective, and compassionate midwifery care to women and their families.
  • Work autonomously to support women with their birth choices and refer appropriately to obstetricians and other health professionals when needed.
  • Maintain professional development and liaise with other professionals in the multidisciplinary team.
  • Support the development of maternity services and contribute to the creation of a centre of excellence in providing rural and remote healthcare.

Person Specification:
  • Registered Midwife
  • Further relevant development to postgraduate certificate or equivalent
  • Relevant postgraduate diploma or equivalent
  • Essential IT skills (EITS) or equivalent
Experience:
  • Clinical practice in all aspects of midwifery care
  • Water birth
Knowledge:
  • Continuing professional development with portfolio
  • NMC rules and code of practice
  • Current local and national developments in maternity care
  • Able to support women and their families in events such as stillbirths, undiagnosed genetic or birth deformities, child protection
  • Ability to demonstrate compassionate values and behaviours needed for dignified care
Personal Circumstances:
  • Able to travel independently between sites as required
  • Driving licence
Other Requirements:
  • Able to participate in on-call rota for home births
