The role of Warehouse Operations Leader entails:

  • Overseeing picking activities within your assigned area to ensure safety and performance align with company standards and objectives.
  • Accurate selection and dispatch of goods in a temperature-controlled environment.
  • Leading a team of approximately 3-5 warehouse staff.
  • Engaging with team members to promote best practices.
  • Coordinating with shift supervisors to address any system or facility issues that may impact optimal picking rates.
  • Ensuring compliance with company procedures regarding safety and picking operations.
  • Identifying empty pick locations and requesting stock replenishment through shift supervisors if not already initiated in the system.
  • Monitoring completed picks to ensure adherence to best practices concerning goods consolidation and security, maximizing load fill without damaging products.
  • Conducting performance evaluations and one-on-one meetings with direct reports as necessary to uphold company standards and objectives.

Essential qualifications for the Warehouse Operations Leader:

  • Proven experience in a warehouse or transportation environment is required.
  • Possession of a valid Counterbalance or Bendi forklift license.
  • Familiarity with IT systems, including warehouse management software, is preferred.
  • Ability to lead change and effectively communicate with the team.
  • Capability to identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Experience in leading a remote team is advantageous.
  • Prior customer service experience is essential, both over the phone and via email.
  • Strong communication skills across all levels.
  • Excellent organizational abilities and capacity to prioritize tasks.
  • Able to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently.
