Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Materials Engineer to join our team at First Recruitment Group. As a Senior Materials Engineer, you will be responsible for working on a permanent staff basis for a large Oil & Gas company based in either Central London or Milton Keynes. The role will involve a hybrid working setup of 3 days per week in the office and 2 days per week working from home.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing project engineering documents such as Material Selection Diagrams, Material Selection reports, Paint and lining specifications, insulation specifications, welding specifications.
  • Undertaking materials and corrosion-related project activities, applying your expertise to achieve project objectives.
  • Preparation of Engineering studies, taking responsibility for their successful execution.
  • Leading new business development and assisting with team management and supporting development of junior engineers.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of a degree in Materials Engineering with professional status (or working towards).
  • Strong understanding of material types, materials selection, corrosion assessment, and materials performance assessment.
  • Understanding of paint and lining systems, insulation selection and welding of pressure components.
  • Capability to work independently in a team environment and manage multiple project responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated commitment to constant improvement in engineering activities across diverse geographic, technical, and cultural contexts.
  • Familiarity with the application and maintenance of engineering processes, systems, and tools (software).
  • Proficiency in MS Office software.
  • Full command of the English language, both written and spoken.
