Position Overview

We are seeking a qualified Financial Accountant to become a part of our team for a 6-month fixed-term contract. This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, requiring 2 days per week in our Cardiff or Newport offices and 3 days working remotely.

As a Financial Accountant within our core Finance Team, you will be instrumental in ensuring that all statutory, regulatory, and group reporting is completed to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct analysis and investigations of aged account balances.
  • Perform balance sheet control reconciliations.
  • Execute bank and cash reconciliations, along with associated process enhancements.
  • Document and improve existing processes.
  • Enhance processes related to control account reconciliations.

Additional Support Responsibilities

  • Assist with regulatory reporting (FCA) submissions as necessary.
  • Conduct monthly analytical reviews of the business and current balance sheet status.
  • Prepare monthly group accounting returns.
  • Manage FCA quarterly returns as required.
  • Handle VAT returns as necessary.
  • Prepare financial statements as required.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Part or fully qualified status as an accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a finance role.
  • Experience in:
    • Financial accounting.
    • Financial control.
    • Account reconciliations.
    • Financial services and outsourcing industries (desirable).
