Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the team leader to understand client requirements and source the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs.
  • Select appropriate vehicles for transport and negotiate the best prices with carriers.
  • Stay up-to-date with European driving regulations and bans, and their impact on transport planning.
  • Monitor the progress of transport, ensuring that agreed milestone updates are communicated to the client when jobs are running to plan.
  • Update the Transportation Management System (TMS) as per the agreed milestones.
  • Escalate delays in transport and identified problems to the team leader, providing options for a resolution to allow effective communication with the client.
  • Record and escalate carrier non-conformances as per the agreed quality process.
  • Finalize jobs upon completion, ensuring that any additional waiting time charges are discussed and agreed with the carrier and third-party costs are correct (where relevant).
Key Skills & Experience
  • Previous office-based transport/logistics experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of people internally and externally.
  • Good IT skills and confident using computer equipment.
  • Analytical and logical problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
