The Role

We are seeking a skilled External Communications Executive to join our PR & External Communications function. As a key member of our team, you will support the firm's strategy, focusing on key pillars and sectors, and drive media relations and external communications efforts to raise lawyer and practice group profiles and the firm's brand.

Main Responsibilities
  • Support the firm's priority practices by driving daily proactive and reactive media relations, spotting news opportunities, and engaging stakeholders.
  • Develop strong relationships with journalists at key media outlets and publications, and draft press releases, pitches, thought leadership pieces, and commentary.
  • Manage the firm's corporate reputation, publicizing appointments and promotions, and other key milestones, such as annual financial results and sustainability programs.
  • Support media and external communications activity in support of campaigns tied to specific initiatives and projects, and assist with creating the annual Impact report.
  • Assist with the firm's social media channels, ensuring content is fresh and relevant to the firm's audiences, and help maintain accurate records of the firm's media opportunities and successes.
Requirements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a broad business and legal media contact base.
  • Exceptional writing and research skills, with the ability to grasp legal concepts, trends, and developments, and tie them into relevant topical issues.
  • Strong organisational and people skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels and be an excellent ambassador for the team.
  • Ability to demonstrate external communications successes to all levels within the firm.
