Job Title: Regional Fundraising and Engagement Officer

This is a pivotal senior role within the Velindre Charity Team, responsible for organizing and delivering the overall aims and objectives of the charity, maximizing donations, engagement, and support.

The role holds a diverse portfolio and will lead the management and delivery of all regional fundraising undertaken by the Charity, expanding and embedding Velindre's Charity footprint, by creating inclusive and diverse opportunities for people to support the charity, whilst creating a network of stakeholders. This role will be a compelling voice to its audience of an authentic Velindre story, inspiring donors and supporters to back our cause, feeling part of a community working together to achieve a common goal and overcome challenges.

In addition, the role will be responsible for managing a delegated group of charity ambassadors and patrons, holding regular meetings and deploying them to support the charity within communities as well as at least one major fundraising programme area e.g. Arts in Health, Corporate Fundraising, Third Party etc.

  • Develop and implement compelling fundraising proposals, campaigns, materials, and case studies to acquire, develop and retain supporters across the fundraising portfolio.
  • Create, plan, manage and organize a portfolio of fundraising events and activities to agreed budgets and targets in line with the overall Charity strategy, developing and managing new fundraising initiatives.
  • Manage all aspects of social media promotion under the guidance of the Charity Brand Manager and produce plans to promote and recruit multiple fundraising activities.
  • Establish, support and develop relationships with external fundraisers and key supporters to ensure that their fundraising is maximized financially and through increased awareness raising.

Person Specification
  • Educated to a Degree level or demonstrable qualifications, knowledge and/or experience in donor/volunteer development/fundraising/charity work.
  • Previous experience of relationship and stakeholder management.
  • Detailed understanding and management experience of Charity regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Project management experience.
  • Educated to a Diploma level or demonstrable qualifications, knowledge and/or experience in Charity, Marketing, sales and/or promotion.
Experience
  • Substantial fundraising management experience including planning, evaluating, and delivering successful events and projects that drive effective income activity outcomes.
  • Strong external and internal stakeholder management experience.
  • Proactive 'can do' attitude coupled with a demonstrable track record of developing technical processes for new fundraising activities.
  • Proven ability to think and act strategically, planning and evaluating activity and opportunities within the context of the wider programme as well as individually.
  • Experience of managing the interface with corporate communication teams and negotiating strong commercial messaging and outcomes.
  • Excellent management and leadership skills with the ability to build strong relationships, based on mutual respect and trust, ensuring that the relationships thrive under pressure.
  • Well-connected and engaged in all matters fundraising and committed to the highest and most sustainable standards in fundraising practice.
  • The ability to manage own workload with minimum supervision.
  • Experience of planning, scheduling, allocating and evaluating work carried out by teams, individuals and self.
  • Experience of using digital platforms such as email marketing platforms, content management systems and analytics platforms.
  • Ability to identify, create and edit strong marketing content.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Highly IT literate - proficient in use of Microsoft Office and digital design software.
