Vantage Consulting Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Senior Hardware/Electrical Engineer to join our team.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a seasoned Electrical Engineer with expertise in designing electrical control panels, electrical cabling, and containment systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), I/O Comms cards, UPSs, and Transmission and Distribution Substation Control and protection equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop electrical control panels, electrical cabling, and containment systems
  • Interpret customer specifications and develop solutions to fulfill those requirements
  • Prepare suitable documentation and drawings to convey design intent
  • Lead and supervise site works following Health and Safety guidelines
  • Work with multidisciplinary design teams and integrate with other team members
  • Develop and mentor engineers and technicians
Requirements:
  • Education to at least degree level in a relevant subject or HND with additional experience
  • At least 5 years of post-graduate experience or 6 years of post-HND experience in electrical engineering
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to work to deadlines and budgets
Desirable Requirements:
  • Experience of thermal or hydro power station E C & I systems or National Grid Substations
  • Competence in Motor Control Centres, Motor Control Gear, and Instrumentation
  • Good working knowledge of related safety and environmental legislation
