Job Title: Study Skills Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Study Skills Support Specialist to join our team at Randstad. As a Study Skills Support Specialist, you will work closely with students who have specific learning difficulties, providing personalized academic support and guidance to help them achieve their academic goals.

About the Role:

This is a hybrid role, requiring you to work both in-person and online with students. You will be responsible for developing customized learning plans, fostering independence in learning, and providing support in areas such as organization, time management, and research skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement personalized learning plans for students with specific learning difficulties
  • Provide one-to-one support to students, helping them to build on their strengths and learning strategies
  • Support students in developing effective organization and time management skills
  • Help students to create action plans to stay on track with their studies
  • Assist students in developing research skills, including finding and using credible sources
  • Support students in improving their comprehension skills in reading and writing
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to hold membership with one of the following professional bodies:

  • British Dyslexia Association (BDA)
  • Professional Membership The Association of Dyslexia (ADSHE)
  • Dyslexia Guild
  • The Professional Association of Teachers of Students with Specific Learning Difficulties (PATOSS)
Desirable Skills:
  • Experience working with clients with specific learning difficulties
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to identify ways to help students build on their learning strengths while maintaining a confidential and professional working relationship
  • Punctuality and reliability
  • Good organizational skills
  • Ability to manage a caseload of students
