About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Prospero Teaching. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in one of our inspirational SEN Schools in Sunderland.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support students with SEN on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, promoting their social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Work effectively with Class Teachers and other Teaching Assistants to ensure students receive the best possible levels of support.
  • Develop and implement strategies to manage challenging behavior, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Differentiate learning to suit the needs and learning styles of students, ensuring they access the curriculum and make progress.
  • Build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents, promoting a collaborative and supportive team environment.
Requirements
  • An Enhanced DBS (ideally on the Update Service) and a childcare-based qualification (desirable).
  • Experience in classrooms supporting students with SEN, with a proven track record of promoting student progress and well-being.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • A resilient, proactive, and positive nature, with a commitment to promoting student success and well-being.
