We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil Engineer to join our team at Harte Consulting Ltd. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer experiences and journeys on residential housing estate developments.
Your primary responsibility will be to manage pre-design and pre-construction activities, including topographical surveys, utility traces, and site investigations. You will also coordinate with external agencies to develop effective remediation and earthworks strategies.
Key Responsibilities- Manage external consultants for road, sewer, and foundation designs, ensuring timely technical approvals and adherence to project plans.
- Commission pre-design surveys, including topographical, utility traces, and site investigations.
- Review designs for constructability, cost-effectiveness, regulatory compliance, and aesthetic suitability.
- Distribute drawings and information to internal and external parties for pre-tender/pre-start meetings and build schedules.
- Oversee all pre-construction engineering activities, including remediation, earthworks, and road/sewer construction.
- Negotiate, procure, and coordinate utility contracts and street lighting to align with build programs and budgets.
- Liaise with local authorities and NHBC to discharge development conditions and secure necessary approvals and adoptions.
- MEng, BEng or HNC in Civil Engineering (essential)
- Industry experience of working on residential housing estate developments (essential)
- Technical Coordinator or Architectural Technologist backgrounds considered providing you have managed and ran your own schemes
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to manage own projects and multitask
- Ability to undertake feasibility and technical studies
- Flexible and willing to spend time in other offices and sites
- Ability and experience using AutoCAD (essential)
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
- Previous experience of designing road and drainage schemes in accordance with S38, S278 and S104 agreements (desirable)
