Job Title: Senior Civil Engineer

Company Overview:

Scantec Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil Engineer to join a renowned leader in nuclear engineering. This organization specializes in delivering engineering and project management solutions that enhance the efficiency of complex infrastructure projects.

Your Mission:

As a Civil Engineer, you will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary engineering team to support operations and future programs at client sites. Your objective is to ensure that Design Intent, Critical Safety Functions, and Safety and Operational Requirements are met according to best practices and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Author and manage design substantiation documents.
  • Oversee design changes and concessions.
  • Present safety cases to committees.
  • Develop EIMT schedules and conduct safety reviews.
  • Provide technical advice and conduct independent reviews.
  • Apply engineering knowledge in high-risk environments.
  • Justify civil/structural design modifications.

Qualification & Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in design assessment for reinforced concrete and steelwork structures.
  • Experience with reinforced concrete and steelwork marine structures and jetties.
  • Proven ability to produce technical justifications for civil/structural design modifications in high-hazard industries.
  • Strong foundation in both general and specialist engineering knowledge, utilizing existing and emerging technologies.
  • Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or Chartered Engineer.
  • Incorporated Engineer or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in a nuclear environment.
  • Familiarity with safety case development techniques, such as HAZID/HAZOP studies.

  • Permanent or Umbrella Contractor role available.
  • Current SC Clearance required.
  • Sole UK National.
