Job Summary

  • We are looking for an experienced Senior Pension Administrator to join our team in the DB schemes department.
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pension administration, with a focus on Defined Benefit schemes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and lead on a portfolio of DB schemes, acting as the client relationship manager.
  • Check colleagues' work, manage workflow, and train/develop junior staff.
  • Manage ad-hoc and annual pension projects, ensuring timely completion and high-quality results.
  • Communicate effectively with scheme members, pension trustees, and other relevant third parties, articulating current and relevant issues.
  • Work proactively and use initiative to complete tasks, providing excellent service to clients and third parties.

Requirements

  • Broad pension technical knowledge, with at least five years' experience working in a Defined Benefit pension administration environment.
  • Detailed understanding of defined benefit pensions schemes and UK pensions legislation, regulation, and codes of practice.
  • Knowledge of systems, including Microsoft Office/Windows applications.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to perform in a fast-moving environment, providing excellent service to clients and third parties.

Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge of and experience with GMP Reconciliation/Equalisation calculations.
  • Practical knowledge of the Pension Protection Fund (PPF).
