National Transport Operations Manager

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced National Transport Manager to join our team at Frontier Agriculture. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the Bulk Fleet Management Team and ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of our national fleet of bulk tipping vehicles.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the Bulk Transport Team, with direct responsibility for the 6 managers, to ensure a strong culture of adherence to health and safety, legislation, and trade assurance schemes.
- Develop and support the managers in meeting expectations and hold them to account if required.
- Effectively plan and deliver workforce requirements 12 months in advance, ensuring downtime is at a minimum.
- Plan vehicle placements throughout the country to suit workflows and to maximise efficiency.
- Form a national overview of company workflows, identifying opportunities for the fleet, challenging current working practices as required.
- Develop a good understanding of the company's grain planning systems to show potential work streams.
- Manage the profitability of the bulk fleet using company reports in-line with company expectations, identify issues or improvements required and addressing them.
- Manage our 3rd party work contracts, maintaining current routes and identifying/developing any further potential routes.
- Ensure drivers are being managed effectively by utilizing a fair and consistent approach.
- Effectively manage the availability of vehicles.
