Financial Leadership Opportunity at The National College

We are seeking a highly skilled Management Accountant to join our team at The National College, a leading EdTech company providing SaaS-based CPD to over 45,000 schools globally. As a key member of our finance team, you will play a critical role in supporting the accounting function, including managing financial transactions, producing management accounts, and reporting packs for one of our group companies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Produce accurate and timely monthly management accounts, including balance sheets and profit & loss statements
  • Conduct variance analysis and provide insightful commentary
  • Develop and maintain financial reporting packs
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Challenge, support, and present findings to stakeholders
  • Reconcile bank and account statements
  • Post journals, raise invoices, and perform general bookkeeping tasks
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns, ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and system development to improve efficiencies
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience in finance management
Skills and Competencies:
  • Excellent IT skills, with proficiency in Excel and Netsuite
  • Highly organized and able to work independently
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Good analytical and reporting skills
Qualifications:
  • Qualified or finalist in a professional accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA, or ACA)
