Job Description

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical and Control Systems Engineer to join our team at Original Talent Recruitment. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring Electrical and Control Designs are completed in compliance with applicable Regulations and Standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Electrical Design: Deliver all aspects of Electrical Design of new equipment, from design concepts, through manufacturing drawings, to testing and commissioning.
  • Control Systems: Provide Control and Instrumentation input to the Process Engineering team, to design new manufacturing processes and control systems.
  • Machinery Safety: Conduct Machinery Safety Risk Assessments, Functional Safety Review, and ISO 13849 Verification (calculation).
  • Documentation: Document outcomes and manage non-conformances.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other engineering staff to evaluate interface between hardware and software, and operational and performance requirements of overall system.
  • Training: Train electrical, controls & instrumentation engineers.

Requirements:

  • Education: A BSc degree in mechanical, electrical, chemical or similar engineering, or equivalent level of experience.
  • Experience: Demonstrable experience delivering machinery electrical design packages from concept to delivery, including ensuring machinery safety in design.
  • Skills: Competent computer skills such as Excel formulae, Visio and CAD drafting software (SW and SW Electrical preferred).
  • Personal Qualities: Ability to assume responsibility, be flexible, perform duties and handle multiple tasks under potentially stressful and/or hazardous conditions.
  • Communication: The ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with other individuals, teams, customers, and stakeholders of the business, at various levels of the organization, in a business-like and professional manner.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Technical Disciplines: Qualified, trained or experienced in technical disciplines related to the job such as Electrical, Control theory, Industrial or Chemical Equipment design, Real-time Control, Programming.
  • Industrial Experience: Experience in related industrial areas such as chemical plant, industrial equipment design.
  • Siemens PLC: Experience with Siemens PLC equipment.
  • Certifications: TUV certification or an internationally recognised equivalent.
  • Travel: Driving licence and ability to travel within the UK and abroad.
