About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Head of Manufacturing and Quality to lead our manufacturing operations and drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the quality, on-time delivery, and costs of our high-precision machine shop and assembly teams.
  • Manage a large team of machine and assembly technicians, inspection, manufacturing engineers, programmers, and production control.
  • Direct reports include Production Managers for Machining and Assembly, Manufacturing Engineering Manager, Production Control Manager, and Maintenance Manager.
  • Lead a strong technical team to improve performance in all areas of the business.
  • Plan for the future introduction of new equipment and business processes/systems.
  • Occasional travel to customers, suppliers, and other sites.
Requirements
  • Demonstrable track record of leading large, skilled manufacturing teams to improve overall performance.
  • Strong people management skills to communicate and motivate team members.
  • Experience in planning and organizing, with the ability to implement new processes and tools.
  • Strong understanding of business KPIs and improving performance in all areas.
  • Champion of specific projects/customers.
  • Working knowledge and experience of quality systems for either automotive or aerospace.
  • Champion Health and Safety for the business.
  • Knowledge of machine shop processes.
  • Leading business change, both culture and implementation of new equipment.
  • Experience in a low-volume, batch machine shop environment.
  • Managing large skilled teams on multiple shifts.
  • Experience in both automotive and/or aerospace quality systems.
  • Knowledge of turning, prismatic, and grinding machining operations.
