We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join our team at Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our community health service, you will be responsible for delivering specialist speech and language therapy services to patients and carers of those with acquired disorders of communication and/or dysphagia.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a caseload of adults with acquired communication and swallowing disorders, actively initiating and participating in interdisciplinary decision making around patient care and developing service delivery initiatives.
- Maintain an overview of competing demands for speech and language therapy services, managing service delivery and keeping line managers informed of pressures to self and service, prioritizing the caseload and administrative workload to meet capacity demands.
- Organize the speech and language therapy service in accordance with Departmental and Trust policies and procedures.
- Apply evidence-based practice to manage a specific caseload of patients with complex needs under supervision.
- Recognized speech and language therapy degree or equivalent.
- Evidence of postgraduate training in dysphagia.
- Evidence of experience in aphasia, progressive neurological, and mental health disorders.
- Good understanding of communication and swallowing disorders.
- NHS experience.
- Advanced communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Evidence of CPD.
- Member of relevant clinical excellence networks.
- Relevant postgraduate clinical experience.
- Interest in voice and head and neck cancer with some knowledge.
