SEN Learning Support Assistant (Primary)

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Learning Support Assistant (Primary) to join our team at an inclusive primary school in Colchester.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to children with special educational needs, promoting their academic and personal growth.
  • Collaborate closely with the class teacher to develop and implement personalized learning plans, ensuring each child receives tailored support.
  • Maintain a supportive and inclusive classroom environment, fostering a positive learning atmosphere.
  • Assist in the development of social and communication skills, helping children to thrive in their educational journey.
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents to ensure seamless communication.
  • Support students with emotional and behavioral challenges, promoting their well-being and confidence.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN, preferably in a primary school setting.
  • Experience with special educational needs (SEN) is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, teachers, and parents.
  • A positive, patient, and caring attitude towards children, with a strong commitment to their educational and personal development.
  • Able to work as part of a team, following instructions and contributing to a collaborative learning environment.
