We are seeking a dedicated Health and Safety Advisor to join our client's team in a permanent capacity.
This is an essential role ensuring the health and safety of all employees by developing and implementing safety management systems and maintaining compliance with relevant legislation.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct risk assessments and enforce preventative measures to mitigate potential hazards.
- Review and update existing policies and measures to ensure compliance with changing legislation.
- Initiate and organize Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) training for employees and executives.
- Inspect premises and work areas to identify issues or non-conformity.
- Oversee installations, maintenance, and disposal of substances to ensure a safe working environment.
- Record and investigate incidents to determine causes and handle worker's compensation claims.
- Prepare reports on occurrences and provide statistical information to upper management.
- Proven experience as a Health and Safety Advisor with a strong understanding of legislation and procedures.
- In-depth knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices.
- Experience in writing reports and policies for health and safety.
- Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics.
- Proficient in MS Office and working knowledge of safety management information systems.
- Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and explain health and safety topics.
- BSc/BA in safety management or relevant field is preferred.
- Relevant Health and Safety qualifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH).
