The Information Lab is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a CIO Advisor. In this role, you will play a vital part in providing information and advice to disabled people, families, carers, and professionals in a non-judgmental and accessible manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the provision of information and advice to clients, empowering them to make informed choices.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential client logs.
  • Help maintain the reference library and leaflets, and undertake other tasks of a similar level of responsibility as requested.
  • Assist with the preparation, display, and sale of disability equipment.
  • Support the Information Officer in providing disability benefit advice and completing forms, after further training.
Working Arrangements

We require a minimum of one session per week, with a minimum of 3 hours in the morning or 4 hours in the afternoon.

Accessibility and Support
  • Our premises are accessible for disabled people and wheelchair users, with a ramp at the front door and a lift to the first floor.
  • We pay for volunteer mileage to and from the shop.
  • We take temperature upon arrival, wear masks/visors, and have anti-bac on desks.
  • We provide ongoing support and training to our volunteers.
  • We have a thorough induction process for all new volunteers.
  • We cover our volunteers with insurance.
When Can I Volunteer?

We are open on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, with morning and afternoon sessions available.
