Infrastructure Section Engineer

Randstad Construction and Property is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Section Engineer to oversee a critical long-term infrastructure initiative for a leading contractor in the industry.
The ideal candidate will possess a proven history of successfully managing significant civil engineering projects for top-tier contractors.
Key Responsibilities:
Section Oversight:
Assume responsibility for a designated segment of the project, which may include roads, bridges, or other essential infrastructure elements, while managing all engineering functions within that segment.
Surveying and Layout:
Employ surveying tools to establish precise measurements, layout project components, and guarantee accurate construction execution.
Quality Assurance:
Supervise the quality of work within your section to ensure adherence to project specifications, safety standards, and industry best practices.
Health and Safety Leadership:
Foster a safety-first culture within your section, implement and uphold health and safety protocols, and ensure the welfare of all team members.
Material Oversight:
Manage the procurement, handling, and storage of construction materials within your section, ensuring timely delivery and appropriate usage.
Progress Documentation:
Keep accurate records of daily operations, prepare progress reports, and communicate effectively with the project team and management.
Technical Problem Solving:
Identify and resolve technical issues within your section, proactively seeking efficient and effective solutions.
Resource Coordination:
Collaborate with subcontractors, suppliers, and local authorities to ensure seamless execution of activities within your section.
Documentation Management:
Organize and maintain project documentation, including drawings, plans, and as-built records for your section.
Budget Monitoring:
Assist in tracking costs within your section and resource allocation to ensure compliance with budgetary constraints.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Demonstrated experience as a Section Engineer, preferably in heavy civil or construction projects.
A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
Proficiency in surveying equipment and relevant software applications.
Comprehensive knowledge of heavy civil engineering construction methodologies, materials, and quality standards.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead a team effectively.
Familiarity with health and safety regulations in the construction sector.
A commitment to delivering high-quality work within established timelines.
