About the Role:
As a UI/UX Designer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping end-to-end user-journeys and user interfaces of our digital services.
You will be actively involved in every stage of the design process, from concept to implementation, ensuring that our digital products are user-centred, intuitive and accessible.

- Collaborate closely within multidisciplinary teams, working with User Researchers, Content Designers, Developers, QA Testers, and Product Owners, to create cohesive and effective digital experiences.
- Translate user research and user feedback into functional and well-crafted designs.
- Create prototypes and wireframes for user testing and review, and iterate designs based on user and stakeholder feedback.
- Ensure all designs comply with accessibility standards and user experience best practices.
About You:
- Proven experience
You can demonstrate your expertise in user-centred UI/UX design with evidence of your work. - Collaborative spirit
You thrive in a team environment and have a proven track record of working effectively within multidisciplinary product teams. - Technical skills
You are proficient in design and prototyping tools such as Figma, and collaboration tools such as Miro. - Communication
You possess excellent communication skills, capable of advocating for user needs and explaining design choices to stakeholders with varying levels of technical understanding. - Adaptability
You are skilled in managing priorities, contributing to multiple Agile projects, and responding positively to changing requirements.
Flexible Working:
The IT Directorate is based at the Police and Fire Headquarters in Portishead, with free parking and a range of on-site facilities. We work very flexibly, and the role can largely be performed from home with the opportunity to work in the office a few times per month.
The working hours per week are 22.5 hours, flexible on days (Monday to Friday).
What We Offer:
We offer a competitive salary of £46,198 - £49,774 pro-rota, and a range of benefits including flexible working, free parking, and on-site facilities.
How to Apply:
If you are passionate about crafting user-centred designs, and you have the experience and skills we are looking for - we would like to hear from you.
