Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager to join our team at South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority. As a key member of our project delivery team, you will be responsible for managing and monitoring all elements of the Mass Transit delivery programme.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage detailed project implementation plans to deliver funding, targets, and economic and financial evaluation.
  • Coordinate contractor delivery to ensure project work packages are specified to the required standard and are delivered on time.
  • Build and maintain positive internal and external relationships to assist the delivery of current and future projects.
  • Undertake effective consultation processes in relation to the project.
  • Lead and guide negotiations with external bodies to form partnerships, agree commercial deals, and secure funding arrangements and/or legal agreements necessary for delivery.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience of managing significant multi-year projects and project teams for schemes in excess of £300m.
  • Experience of managing risk within a project management environment.
  • Good knowledge of relevant legislation, guidance, and its interpretation and application.
  • Financial and commercial awareness to enable informed decisions to maximise financial and commercial benefits.
  • Civil, Highways, or Transportation Engineering, IT or Technology, or Project Management-based degree or equivalent.
