We are seeking a highly skilled Product Safety Specialist to join our team at BAE Systems. As a Product Safety Specialist, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining our Safety Management System (SMS) to ensure the highest level of safety and compliance in our products.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Lead hazard and risk identification, management, and assessment activities to ensure the safety of our products.
- Oversee the administration and management of the Project Hazard Log to ensure accurate and up-to-date information.
- Complete peer reviews, checking, verification, and assurance tasks to demonstrate the adequacy and robustness of the Safety Case and supporting documentation.
- Understand and apply wider Safety Case, Quality, and Management System documentation to ensure compliance and safety.
- Influence the construction and delivery of the Project Safety Case, including Safety Case reports.
- Produce, present, and articulate clear and logical technical safety arguments to stakeholders.
- Provide technical support and oversight to the assessment and quantification of functional integration risk.
- Knowledge of HAZOP/HAZIN/FTA and experience in the use of Safety Management Systems (SMS).
- STEM Degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience in chairing Hazard Identification (HAZIN) meetings.
- Experience in mentoring/coaching teams/individuals.
- Submarines design life-cycle experience.
