  • Overview

We are offering 2 SEO positions within the Science Office of the Analysis Directorate. This opportunity is open to all candidates, both internal and external to Government. Please note that this role does not include a specialist allowance.

  • About the MoJ Science Office

The Ministry of Justice Science Office is dedicated to integrating scientific rigor into decision-making processes and enhancing the overall scientific capability within the Department. Postholders will contribute to various strategic functions, including providing technical support to influence policy; assisting senior colleagues in achieving their objectives; and planning and executing pilots/projects.

Responsibilities

The two available roles in the Science Delivery team will focus on shaping and developing innovative ideas to enhance justice delivery through advanced technologies, creative approaches, and pilot studies.

The postholders will report to the G7 Science Delivery Lead, supporting ongoing workstreams related to nutrition, food waste, sleep, wastewater monitoring, and illicit drug detection.

  • Candidate Profile

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Degree-level qualifications or equivalent experience in:
    • STEM subject.
  • Prior experience in a STEM-related role.
  • Experience collaborating with a diverse range of stakeholders, including senior staff, external partners, or as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills, with a proven ability to make transparent decisions and communicate them effectively.
