Job Overview

Blackfield Associates is seeking a seasoned professional to oversee the maintenance operations at our state-of-the-art research facility. This role is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of complex systems across various research environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations, including Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) in laboratory settings.
  • Asset Optimization: Lead the implementation of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to maximise equipment performance and efficiency.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Develop and execute Planned Preventative and Predictive Maintenance programs to minimise downtime and extend asset lifespan.
  • Instrument Calibration and Validation: Manage the calibration and validation of critical research instruments to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Building Management Systems: Oversee the operation of Building Management Systems (BMS) to ensure energy efficiency and control of environmental systems.
  • Facilities Management: Supervise mechanical, electrical, and renewable energy systems to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Security and Risk Management: Drive security and risk management strategies to protect people, assets, and research.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with researchers and facility managers to align maintenance with research goals and objectives.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field.
  • Experience: Proven expertise in maintaining pharmaceutical, life sciences, energy, and agricultural research facilities.
  • Leadership: Extensive experience in cross-disciplinary team leadership and management.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Familiarity with GMP, health and safety, and environmental standards.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with CMMS for large facilities and experience with renewable energy systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications: Certifications in GMP, NEBOSH, or Certified Facilities Manager (CFM).
  • Additional Experience: Experience with renewable energy systems and additional certifications in related fields.
