Manufacturing Engineer

Carbon 60 is seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Andover, Hampshire. As a key member of our Microelectronics Engineering department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the requirements for our product lines are met and complied with.
Key Responsibilities:- Coordinate and carry out engineering activities to ensure product quality, adherence to specification, and on-time delivery.
- Assist senior engineers and management in the execution of tasks for engineering projects, communicating with project stakeholders and collecting, presenting, and analysing data for reports.
- Work alongside other manufacturing engineers and junior or graduate engineers on joint tasks, day-to-day tasks, medium/long-term projects, training, mentoring, and development.
- Develop processes to ensure the best possible quality and reduce waste, increasing efficiency by analysing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
- Use documented Standard Operating Procedures, Process Capability, and Gauge R&R to continuously verify and validate manufacturing processes.
- Ensure equipment and process Standard Operating Procedures are documented and reviewed regularly for accuracy and compliance.
- Train and mentor junior and graduate engineers on key items of manufacturing equipment, engineering disciplines, procedures, and individual performance.
- Continuously evaluate own training needs with line manager to further develop skills and knowledge and engage with recommended/offered training plans and courses.
- Assist Production Teams in identifying training needs for new and current operators and deliver training on equipment and processes.
- Work with supervisors and production teams to ensure standards of workmanship are met and the working environment is maintained.
- Support Production Teams in all matters technical, address technical issues, re-optimisation of process, and troubleshooting.
- Review new and/or up-issued customer documentation to ensure CIL documents and processes are compliant with customer requirements.
- Assist quality engineers to investigate instances of poor quality or customer returns, compile evidence and data for 8D reports, review and evaluate process risk for PFMEAs, and support both internal and external audits.
- Support senior engineers and management with the introduction of new products and processes, evaluating new customer documents, generating assembly instructions and/or drawings, designing jigs and fixtures, and devising methods to measure, collect, and evaluate data associated with special and/or critical characteristics.
- Ensure key equipment remains operational by working with the maintenance teams to service and repair equipment as required.
- Assist senior engineers and management in identifying and documenting, recording, and reporting on procedures, processes, and key performance indicators.
- Minimum: An HNC or HND in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline.
- Preferable: A degree qualification; BEng/MEng in an engineering or scientific discipline such as electronics, manufacturing, or mechanical engineering.
- Experience: A minimum of 2 years working in a relevant manufacturing environment.
