Job Title: Environmental Sustainability Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Sustainability Manager to join our infrastructure team at Skanska. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in influencing, developing, and driving environmental excellence through the planning and delivery phases of major road projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the development of environmental management systems and plans, ensuring the successful coordination of applications and timely acquisition of permits and consents.
  • Communicate permitting conditions to the site team and undertake permit/consent compliance inspections.
  • Identify, appraise, and communicate environmental risks and opportunities.
  • Manage and collaborate with environmental specialists, consultants, and suppliers to develop plans, commitments, and requirements.
  • Assist the OU Lead Environmental Sustainability Manager and team in delivering best practice initiatives and improvement projects, oversee environmental training for project staff, represent the Sustainability and Innovation Enabling Function in meetings and forums, and act as an environmental representative with clients, local authorities, and regulators.
Requirements:
  • Degree level in an appropriate environmental or relevant discipline.
  • At least 5 years' construction industry experience or environmental experience in a similar sector.
  • Experience in environmental permitting and delivery of environmental management in major construction projects, particularly planning stage.
  • Full driving license and willingness to travel to projects in the region.
