About the Role

XPS Pensions Group is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Graduate Assistant Investment Consultant to join our team. As a Graduate Assistant Investment Consultant, you will play a key role in assisting clients with investment solutions and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist clients with investment solutions and best meet their objectives
  • Build relationships and communicate effectively within the team, other departments, investment managers, and clients
  • Draft written advice to clients on a wide range of topics
  • Effectively deliver advice to clients in meetings
  • Monitor funds, managers, and their performance, and report to clients on their strategy's performance
  • Conduct risk analysis and modelling to help clients better understand and manage risks relative to their return and other objectives
  • Assist with implementing investment strategies, including asset transitions support
  • Contribute to the continuous debate on how to improve client service, including new investment ideas and ways to communicate investment concepts
  • Work as part of a team, initially assisting more experienced team members, and progressing to communicating directly with clients
  • Involved in manager and fund research in an area of interest
  • Opportunity to be further involved in other areas of personal interest
  • Regular training opportunities with the graduate intake cohort
  • Support with professional qualifications, such as Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) exams or actuarial (IFoA) exams
Your Profile

To thrive in this role, you should be interested in investments or keen to learn more, with a desire to provide the best solutions for clients. You should have:

  • A conscientious and eager-to-learn attitude
  • A desire and ability to build great relationships with colleagues and clients
  • Outstanding communication skills, written, oral, and in presentation form
  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize effectively
  • A logical mindset, with a high level of numeracy
  • Ability to problem-solve and come up with solutions
  • Outstanding accuracy and attention to detail
  • Adaptable and a team-player
  • Strong computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office
  • A graduate with a strong academic background in economics, mathematics, or a finance-related field
  • A level Maths (or equivalent Highers)
  • A desire to study professional exams, such as CFA or IFoA
