Job Title: Packaging Technologist

Future Beauty Labs is a global beauty house and incubator of disruptive beauty brands. We are seeking a skilled Packaging Technologist to join our team in Glasgow, Scotland.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all packaging projects from initial concept through to launch, ensuring they are delivered within spec, time, and budget. This will involve working closely with compliance, design, and supply chain teams to ensure packaging material is innovative, impactful, and meets our ambitious commercial and sustainability goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage packaging projects from concept to launch, ensuring timely and budget-friendly delivery.
  • Identify and mitigate potential business risks related to packaging and product development.
  • Develop and implement packaging processes to meet global compliance standards and product functionality and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with supply chain and manage timings for new packaging developments.
  • Build and maintain relationships with material suppliers, external agencies, and contract manufacturers.
  • Lead sustainability initiatives for Future Beauty Labs and research advancements in sustainable packaging.
  • Research new market trends globally within beauty and packaging to ensure innovation and boundary-pushing within target categories.
Requirements:
  • 2-3 years of experience in a packaging technologist/specialist role.
  • Experience working in beauty with a good understanding of global packaging regulations.
  • Experience working on custom packs.
  • Experience/understanding of quality assurance and testing procedures, in relation to packaging materials.
  • Excellent project management skills, highly organized, and able to work on multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced and agile environment.
  • Able to build good relationships across multiple departments.
  • CAD design skills desirable.
  • Degree in Engineering, Packaging, Product Design, or similar desirable, but not essential.
