Senior 3D Artist: Asset Creation and Pipeline Development

Job Summary:

The Lead Asset Artist will be responsible for overseeing the creation and execution of high-quality 3D assets for various projects, including game cinematics and commercials. This role requires exceptional artistic skill, technical expertise, and leadership abilities to manage a team of artists and ensure the delivery of high-quality assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the creation and supervision of high-quality 3D models, textures, and look development for various projects.
  • Collaborate with directors, creative directors, and other stakeholders to ensure that all work meets high-level expectations and specific project needs.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of facial modeling, FACS blendshapes, and facial rigging.
  • Work closely with the rigging department to ensure that animators have the necessary tools and assets to deliver high-quality results.
  • Participate in meetings with the LA and India assets teams to ensure seamless collaboration and communication.
  • Continuously look for ways to improve the pipeline and workflow, and implement changes as needed.

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience in high-quality asset creation, including modeling, sculpting, UVs, and texturing.
  • 3+ years of experience leading or supervising a team of artists.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality assets on time and within budget.
  • Exceptional artistic skill and attention to detail.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Maya, ZBrush, Mari, and Substance Painter.
  • Ability to work within a new pipeline and adapt to changing requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with real-time engines, particularly Unreal Engine, Unity, and Frostbite.
  • Knowledge of MEL and/or Python for scripting and tool development.
