Job Description

Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor - Renewable Energy

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Technical Global Solutions. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the commercial management of our renewable energy projects, working closely with our Operations team to ensure the successful delivery of our high-voltage infrastructure management contractor and Independent Connections Provider (ICP) division.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Commercially manage a portfolio of circa £25m per annum, working together with the Operations team to ensure the successful delivery of our projects.
  • Monitor commercial operational activities across multiple projects, identifying and mitigating potential risks and issues.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership skills, overseeing Pre-contract agreements and LOI's, and assisting with the negotiation of contracts.
  • Complete contractual administration across client-facing main contracts and key subcontracts, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Translate the company's strategic plans into defined operational plans, implementing positive cashflow and milestone creation.
  • Financial management of projects, including monthly client invoicing, project cashflow management, and invoicing substantiation.
  • Attend monthly project finance and milestone meetings with the Commercial Manager, and bi-monthly meetings with the quantity surveyors to review project performance.
  • Attend weekly Commercial workflow meetings, proactively engaging in a culture of continuous business improvement.
  • Mentor junior surveyors and assist with their development, while efficiently utilizing them as a resource to support own workload.
  • Stay up-to-date with technological changes within the industry, ensuring the company remains at the forefront of innovation.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Quantity Surveying/Commercial Management, or equivalent.
  • A proven track record of working as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally with a background in civils/groundworks or high-voltage electrical projects.
  • An in-depth knowledge of construction contracts (ideally to include FIDIC and/or NEC contracts) and a good track record of contract management.
  • A strong understanding of budget and cashflow management, with a proactive and initiative-taking approach to work tasks.
  • A professional demeanor and excellent communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with ease.
