About the Role

We are delighted to be working with our independent clients to offer this Sous Chef position in a stunning country hotel, to join the team of professional chefs in this modern kitchen.

The Venue

The venue is well known for its quality of food and service, its stunning country setting, and its undoubted charm. We are looking for a strong career-minded Sous Chef to join our team.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Chef in the management of the kitchen, ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation.
• Develop and implement menu planning, taking into account seasonal produce and customer preferences.
• Manage kitchen staff, providing guidance and training to ensure a smooth and efficient service.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including HACCP and COSHH.
• Contribute to the development of the hotel's culinary reputation, working closely with the Head Chef and other senior chefs.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Sous Chef in a similar establishment, preferably with a Rosette-winning or Michelin-recognized kitchen.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
• Excellent knowledge of seasonal produce, with the ability to create menus that showcase local ingredients.
• Sound understanding of kitchen management, including budgeting and costing.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a calm and composed demeanor.
