Higher Level Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our team at a reputable school in Strood. This is a full-time role with the potential for permanence for the right candidate.
About the SchoolThe school is a single-form school in Medway, easily accessible by public transport and offering on-site parking. It has been graded GOOD by Ofsted, highlighting the high expectations leaders have for the children and the strong Early Years and Key Stage 1 provision.
The Role- Prepare classrooms for lessons, including setting up video presentations and sourcing books and handouts for students.
- Teach classes unassisted, especially when Teachers are ill or on leave.
- Plan and deliver learning and enrichment activities, either with Teachers or independently.
- Work with small groups of students or individuals needing special attention.
- Develop specialist curricula in areas of interest.
- Assess students' progress and discuss development with Teachers, parents, and Carers.
- Console students who are unwell, injured, or upset.
- Supervise student groups on excursions and at sporting events.
We are looking for an experienced candidate who can demonstrate a strong understanding of teaching principles and practices. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, Teachers, and parents.
