Job Title: Learner Support Assistant

At Care First - Eden Lodge, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learner Support Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing person-centred support and care to clients with disabilities, enabling them to fully benefit from our provision.

Job Purpose:

To support and promote the development of clients attending our 'Skills Tank' Provision, meeting the range of social care and support needs for vulnerable adults with diverse needs and conditions.

To actively support the Hub Manager in delivering educational and learning activities, promoting a quality and professional service at all times.

  • Provide concise and accurate feedback to the Hub Manager on each learner's progress, ensuring assessments are focused and the learning direction clear.
  • Be aware of changes in individual behaviour due to activity alterations, e.g., swimming needing to be changed to a different day due to minibus breakdown.
  • Be aware of all fire regulations and policies involved for the safety of students and work colleagues, promoting Health and Safety throughout the Skills Tank.
  • Participate in all training organised as appropriate to the position.
Knowledge & Experience:

We are looking for an individual with:

  • Experience of working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role.
  • Experience of working with adults with learning difficulties/disabilities, autism, and Mental Health.
  • Experience of behaviour that can challenge.
  • Desirable - knowledge and experience of autism and Mental Health.
  • Desirable - NVQ Level 2 Health and Social Care - Adults.
  • Prepared to undertake on-going training and day-to-day learning throughout employment.
