About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Finance Director to lead the financial management of the Dreadnought programme. As a key member of the Alliance Management Committee, you will be responsible for providing strategic advice and robust financial information to enable timely and effective decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a multi-site and multi-organisation team to improve financial control and the management of risk and opportunities.
  • Provide strategic advice and robust financial information to the Alliance Managing Director and Alliance Leadership Board.
  • Create a robust outturn position against cost baselines and clearly lay out risks against this baseline.
  • Lead key financial relationships with industry partners to create a cost-conscious environment.
  • Maintain a robust control environment to ensure accurate Equipment Plan and operating costs.
  • Establish an effective end-to-end financial governance system for management of the Dreadnought programme.
  • Plan, deliver, and assure in-year and Annual Budget Cycle costings.
  • Develop capability for all Finance staff in the Alliance.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policy, Managing Public Money, HMT Control framework, and Tax policy.
  • Prepare and brief financial material to senior stakeholders on the status of the programme.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in financial management, with experience of leading teams and providing strategic advice. You will also need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders.
