About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Barbering Tutor to join our team at Dovetail and Slate Ltd. As a Barbering Tutor, you will play a vital role in educating and rehabilitating adult learners in a correctional facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality Barbering NVQ training up to Level 2, ensuring learners meet their long-term employment goals.
  • Identify individual learner needs and create personalized learning plans.
  • Review learner progression and adjust training to meet their evolving needs.
  • Prepare and deliver comprehensive lesson plans addressing basic literacy, numeracy, language, and social/employability barriers.
  • Engage and motivate learners to increase retention and improve overall learning experience.
Requirements
  • Five GCSEs at Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent), including English Language and Mathematics.
  • NVQ Level 2 in Barbering.
  • A Degree or professional qualification relevant to the work.
  • Teaching Qualification (or willingness to gain within the first two years of service).
  • Knowledge and experience of current teaching and learning strategies.
  • Excellent team working and communication skills.
