About the Role

The Urban Design Group is seeking a proactive Senior Manager to run the organisation on a day-to-day basis, manage a small team of part-time staff, help to organise and facilitate events, and work with us to deliver our charitable objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the delivery of a wide range of supporting activities, including liaising with and building our membership, resources and financial base.
  • Help to organise and run events, and manage the website and social media.
  • Be able to work independently and be hands-on, as we build a permanent support team.
  • Enjoy working collaboratively with our members, Executive Committee and Trustees.
  • Be proactive and self-motivated.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years relevant experience working for a charity or business.
  • Experience of managing a variety of operations for a small/medium sized organisation with some team leadership responsibilities.
  • Experience of growing a membership body will be an advantage.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Draw up a new strategic plan and objectives for the Urban Design Group for the next 1-5 years.
  • Operationalise and ensure the timely delivery of this strategic plan and objectives, in line with agreed KPIs.
  • Manage and develop effective processes and systems for running the Urban Design Group and monitoring its activities.
  • Document and provide reports on the Urban Design Groups activities for internal and external monitoring, governance and statutory requirements.
  • Draw up the annual budget for the Urban Design Group and oversee day-to-day financial management.
  • Oversee the investment of the charitys reserves.
  • Manage HR processes for the Urban Design Group, including working with the Strategic Director to devise a suitable staffing structure.
  • Oversee and facilitate the delivery of the Urban Design Groups annual programme of events.
  • Oversee and manage the Urban Design Groups various initiatives and projects.
