Communications Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Communications Manager to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term maternity cover contract. As a key member of our Communications team, you will play a vital role in developing and delivering our internal and external communications strategy, positioning us as a high-quality care provider and employer of choice.
Key Responsibilities- Identify newsworthy developments, stories, or profile-raising opportunities, working with the External Communications & Marketing team to generate media coverage and promote our charity's best practice, innovations, and successes.
- Support the development of compelling submissions for local and national awards events, showcasing our position as a sector leader.
- Provide expertise and support to our Regional Business Units, helping them engage with their local networks and market our services, ensuring our brand is professionally represented externally.
- Work closely with the charity's Partnerships & Communities team to support the positive promotion of their initiatives, projects, and opportunities, highlighting our innovative approach to care and employment.
- Generate creative and compelling content for a range of communications channels, including magazine, press, website content, news items, brochures, corporate communications, e-newsletters, and blog posts.
- Support the planning and execution of large-scale events, such as awards or roadshows, to foster a culture of connection and celebration among our 6,000-strong workforce.
- Develop and deliver internal communications campaigns to achieve awareness, engagement, or behavior change among our staff.
- Education to degree level, preferably in a relevant subject (Marketing, Communications, etc.).
- Previous experience in a communications role within a values-driven organization.
- Demonstrable experience of creating and implementing effective communications plans.
- Proven track record of working with a wide range of internal and external audiences.
- Excellent copywriter and content creator.
- Brilliant communicator at all levels.
- Innovative thinker and problem solver.
- Will to be flexible in working hours and travel.
